Artist Manager - COAA 2014 Participant

My time at the Canadian Operatic Arts Academy was a really meaningful part of my development as an artist. It was my first opportunity to work in opera scenes, and I felt incredibly fortunate to explore roles like the Governess and Donna Elvira while learning from mentors like Tom Diamond, Jackie Short, and Martin Katz. I also met so many wonderful artists through the program, including a soprano I now have the privilege of representing.

Bass-Baritone - COAA 2012 Participant

COAAs sheer volume of masterclasses and coachings with opera specialists from around the world opened my eyes to a wide range of concepts, and the opportunity to perform a variety of scenes ranging from baroque to contemporary opera as a soloist and ensemble member were all invaluable elements of the program that helped me take the next steps in my development

Soprano - COAA 2014 Participant

My experience at COAA came at exactly the point in my training when I needed it most. COAA gave me some of my first opportunities to perform with an orchestra, take part in masterclasses, and work on opera scenes, all while being surrounded by such a kind, generous, and supportive community. I was challenged to grow while always feeling met where I was, and I’m incredibly grateful for the foundation and community it gave me.
